Prior
to starting her acting career, Kathi Carey was a classically-trained pianist,
winning the Chopin Piano Award, the Bank of America Fine Arts Award and
playing the Mozart Concerto No. 21 with the Sequoia symphony orchestra.
As a singer, she opened for Bill Cosby, Peggy Fleming, Roy Clark, and
others in the major showrooms of Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. Kathi has starred
in 10 features, 4 television pilots, and hundreds of half-hour anthologies
for cable television. She has produced, written, and directed 2 features
(Garage Sale, Hard
Time), approximately half of the episodes for the Confessions
series, and over 1,000 half-hour anthologies for cable TV. Additionally,
Kathi was a final judge for the CableACE awards for the last 9 years of
its existence, judging both the Best Director in a Comedy Series and Best
Director of a Movie or MiniSeries categories.
