THE JERRY FAIRFAX SHOW stars Michael Chanslor in the title role of Jerry, whose Hollywood show-biz career consisted of an appearance on an episode of "The Name of the Game." He then retreated to do a drive-time radio show in Indiana. Now, with three failed marriages and a falling Arbitron rating behind him, Jerry has returned to Southern California to launch his television comeback. Jerry, the Basil Fawlty of American television, gives his all to the show, but the technical limitations of the studio in which he is forced to operate sabotage the show at every turn. "A
major crackup. We loved it!" "A
lot of wacky fun." |

The "Jerry Fairfax" persona and show were designed for either of two applications. Presented only as the Jerry Fairfax talk/variety show, it would compete with (or push aside) Craig Kilborn, Conan O'Brien or Bill Maher. In the alternative, follow Jerry-the-TV-host home after the "show", or into the back lot trailer that serves as his production office, and you have a "Frasier" where Jerry tries to control the uncontrollable his life. "MICHAEL CHANSLOR has a perfect understanding of how to get a laugh without 'asking' for it. His Jerry is vulnerable and charming. The calls we get from viewers tell us they love him." - Stephen Mitchell, Jerry's creator
